WIC MICA

There are five (5) WIC MICA's to select from: Prenatal, Postpartum, Prenatal/Postpartum, Infant and Child or All.

Prenatal - Prenatal refers to the period during pregnancy. All WIC Prenatals with estimated date of delivery during a given calendar year is the population covered by this MICA.

To create a table using WIC prenatal, select from the following options: By County or Missouri Map

Postpartum - Postpartum means after childbirth or after a delivery with reference to the mother. All WIC Postpartum women delivering live births in given calendar year is the population covered by this MICA.

Prenatal/Postpartum - The population covered by MICA includes all WIC Postpartum women delivering live births in given calendar year who also participated in WIC during their pregnancy. Postpartum means after childbirth or after a delivery with re ference to the mother.

Infants - Infants refers to newborns up to but not including the first birthday. All WIC Infants certified in a given calendar year is the population covered by this MICA.

Child - Child refers to children 12 to 59 months. All WIC Children certified in a given calendar year is the population covered by this MICA.

NOTE: The data utilized to develop the WIC MICAs is acquired differently from what is presented by CDC in the Pediatric Nutrition Surveillance Systems (PedNSS) or the Pregnancy Nutritional Surveillance System (PNSS) reports so numbers and percents will not be the same.
