Family Care Safety Registry

Welcome to the Family Care Safety Registry Internet Background Screening site.

The Family Care Safety Registry (FCSR) offers the opportunity to obtain background screening information on registered employees. Access to the information using the Internet is granted to pre-approved employees of a provider licensed by or contracted with the Department of Health and Senior Services and who are using the information for employment purposes as defined in Section 210.921.1, RSMo. Any individual misusing the information is guilty of a Class B misdemeanor. Each individual accessing the Internet application must obtain a UserID and establish a password. Eligible providers may expect information to be provided in one of three ways:

• If the search reveals that there is no matching information on file in any of the seven databases checked by the FCSR, the requestor will view that information in a result screen that should be printed.  This is the only copy the requestor will receive. 
• If the search reveals information that needs to be examined further by FCSR staff, the requestor will view a screen that informs them that their request will be processed and the result will be mailed to them within 3-5 days. This notification results when common names are searched; when there is a large amount of data that cannot be processed using the Internet search; or to determine whether or not there is matching information.  This result screen may also be printed.
• If the search reveals that the registrant is not registered, the requestor will receive a message stating “Not Registered”.

FCSR searches Missouri data only and does not include any information from other states.  FCSR bases background screening results on the name, date of birth and social security number of the employee, not the use of fingerprints. Searches based on a name, date of birth and social security number may not always be accurate. FCSR cannot guarantee that the results obtained through this site relate to the person for whom you are seeking information. The only way to positively link an individual to a criminal history record is through fingerprint verification.
